Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document everything I like. If you like what I like, follow me.

I LIKE hygge.

I LIKE hygge.

Here's why:

Because I like cozy. For those of you who have not heard of hygge yet, you will this year. Actually, you will right now if you keep reading.

Hygge is worth the effort (and it doesn't take much) because it's just so darn pretty and it's a great design sensibility to have because it's a very personal thing. If you google hygge you will find a lot of images centered around thick knit blankets and warm cups of coffee.—does life get any better than that?

Here are some bullet points when trying to incorporate hygge into your home:

Enjoy The Moment: hygge is about savoring moments...think fewer quality items (like a thick blanket and a big white coffee mug) rather than more, lesser quality items.

Togetherness: Gather your friends and eat comfort food...so make a space that fosters this! Keep your spaces wide and open for optimal gathering ( example: a long wooden table and comfortable mismatched chairs and lots of pillows.)

Lighting: Candles, candles and more candles. I know whenever I light candles when dusk hits I immediately get in a better mood.

Layering: Layering of rugs, throws, furs and adding heaps of texture to your home and give you instant cozy! Think FLUFFY, THICK, and SOFT. Doesn't necessarily have to mean dark...it can be bright and light too.

It is time to come to terms...we have entered the fall season. So why not embrace the shorter, darker days with a little hygge in your life and get the perks of being on trend? I promise you won't regret it...and as trendy as it may be, it's pretty timeless.

I have started to inject a little hygge into my home...have a look:

Ok the dog is personal, but she is comfy (and fuzzy) and fits right into that hygge lifestyle.

Below...some hygge eye candy. Serious. Decorating. Porn. (can you use the word porn in a blog? will that come back to bite me from an SEO standpoint?)

Feel free to comment on how you incorporate hygge into your YOU. Heaven knows we could all share a little more of this lifestyle in our day to day...and enjoy that coffee!
