Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document everything I like. If you like what I like, follow me.

I LIKE this product.

I LIKE this product.

Here’s why:

The older I get the more I understand that happiness is in the little things. Have you ever just wanted to do your part in the world? Like, no matter how small, just be prepared to do the right thing? Well, there is a product out there that can help you do just that.

Maybe this has happened to you…you are walking in the city and you see an exhausted bee. Huffing, panting, and clinging to a wall—not a flower in sight. Well, no matter how sweet you are, now you can help the little guy. And no, it’s not a tiny little pillow or blanket (although how cute would that be? Like a little bee sleeping bag?)… It’s better. When I saw this product it brought me all the “feels”.

Look at how adorable this is:

Beevive is a small company with a big mission. Based in the UK, this company is saving little bee lives one sip at a time. They call it a Bee Revival Kit. What is it? It is a little vial filled with sweet sugar water to carry around with you when/if you happen to run into an exhausted bee! It comes with a key ring so it’s always handy when it’s time to give a tuckered little fella a few yummy sips! No straws needed of course, they come with their own and it’s all natural! LOL.

If you have been living under a rock then you may not know that bees are very important to our ecosystem. Honey bees specifically are called a Keystone Species because of how they help our planet exist and directly impact human life. If bees die, we die. And exhausted bees are a thing for sure. Not such a little thing now, huh?

There is some controversy on the internets about if helping a bee by feeding it sugar water is the correct thing to do. If you are interested but not sure, I urge you to check out the FAQ’s page on Beevive’s site. Pretty much, if you do come across a tired bee it is important to look around for a flower first. If there is one around, placing the bee on the flower is the best thing to do…obviously take great care in not startling the bee to avoid a sting! But, if you are in the concrete jungle and there is no flower in site, then this vial will be the best next thing.

Bees get tired when they travel too far out of their natural habitat and may not survive if they can’t find nectar. You can make a bee’s day, and save a little bee’s life! And by the looks of their instagram, people are really doing this! These stories are macro versions of everything I want to be as a person.

And to those of you who already own a kit—keep bee-ing you…it speaks volumes about your character and the beautiful human you are. And let’s be honest, we all could use a few more acts of kindness, no matter how small.
